AMA is looking for an IT SharePoint Intern who can implement workflows and forms within MS SharePoint 365 to automate AMA’s processes, procedures and policies. 



Following the guidance of the Director of Systems Development perform one or more of the following:

  • Serve as a SharePoint Developer and support AMA divisions with their SharePoint portal needs. Design, Develop, Enhance, Test, and Maintain the following:
  • SharePoint experience: SharePoint 365, SharePoint designer, SharePoint workflows
  • SharePoint Extensions, Tools, and Dashboards experience: MetaLogix (for on-prem. backup and recovery), and PowerBI (for Dashboards).
  • Databases and Cloud experience: Microsoft Azure for SharePoint data migration, and familiarity with databases like SQL Server and MS Access.
  • Programming and tools experience: Jquery, Javascripts, Angular UI, Powershell scripting.
  • Create custom SharePoint forms, web parts, timer jobs, templates and PowerShell scripts for SharePoint 365.
  • Use Visual Studio to create custom web parts, workflows, timer jobs, etc. for SharePoint 365.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Required Skills:

  • Experience creating Dashboards using External Content Types, Data Connections, Excel Services, Performance Point and SQL Server Reporting Services in SharePoint 365.
  • Experience creating custom lists, features, web parts, event handlers, workflows, and master pages in SharePoint 365. 
  • Ability to create interactive PDF documents. 
  • Excellent organization and communication skills


Up to 28 hours per week, approximately 8 weeks



To be considered for this MS SharePoint development role in support of the AMA SharePoint environment, candidate must:

  • Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S. (International students, have to be able to provide proof of work authorization
  • Applicant has to be able to commute to Midtown Manhattan, New York City on a daily basis
  • Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher;
  • Major in information systems, computer science, or similar field;
  • Be a full-time student at an accredited university;
  • Applicants are responsible for transportation to and from the internship experience
  • Successfully completed at least one year of college with an IT-oriented course load
  • Currently enrolled in college
  • General understanding of databases
  • Some experience with SQL and relational database concepts
  • Experience with database programming or scripting in any SQL database.
  • Some experience with an object-oriented programming language a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Access
  • Good communications and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to delivering excellent quality product on time
