    AMA is looking for a talented Manager to join the Marketing team. This position will create and execute the targeting, segmentation and list strategies that market management education products/services to new and existing customers via AMA's catalog and all catalog related formats. This individual will determine optimal circulation and mix of formats to achieve print promotion revenue targets, while maximizing efficiencies. They will also forecast campaign results, track performance against projections, and modify future efforts to support achieving Seminar revenue goals.


    The Manager, Catalog Circulation & Analysis will be responsible for the following:

    • Direct the execution of the circulation plan for all catalog mailings, including targeting/segmenting house and third-party lists, designing tests, and overseeing the work of support groups to direct the efforts of outside vendors (e.g. printers, list/database service providers)
    • Lead the strategy to create profitable mail plans, coupled with telesales and email contact strategies, that maximize the number of seminar seats sold and grow the house file
    • Identify top-tier customers, establish campaign goals, and set call priorities to enable outbound telesales to drive revenue contributions in excess of $10,000,000 a year for key campaigns 
    • Manage relationships with external partners to drive new customer acquisition by expanding usage of cooperative databases, researching and securing new list sources and negotiating favorable terms for AMA
    • Rigorously track and analyze program results and list performance, share with colleagues and incorporate into future testing
    • Establish requirements to guide the development of automated CRM reports to track campaign effectiveness
    • Manage the merge/purge process, negotiate list costs, and establish and meet all list related deadlines required to meet mail dates
    • Work with internal partners to plan and execute tests that are statistically valid and readable
    • Create reports for senior management forecasting and monitoring results, including a summary report of results for each catalog mailing, reflecting outcome of tests conducted. Formulate recommendations for future catalog plans based on findings.
    • Partner with the VP to build the catalog budget
    • Present bi-monthly catalog circulation plans that align with goals
    • Provide direction and clear instructions to the Production Manager, creative staff and the printer to ensure that all catalog versions are executed to our specifications and delivered to the proper audience
    • Improve workflow and processes to reduce cycle times and costs
    • Manage, train and collaborate with the Sr. Marketing Analyst and provide clear direction to the List Operations Specialist
    • Other related duties


    • BA/BS required
    • Minimum 5 years direct marketing experience, including responsibility for list/circulation plan development, preferably in a B2B environment
    • Management experience preferred
    • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret results and formulate recommendations for future strategies
    • Experience using CRM analytical tools
    • Team player, able to collaborate with others
    • Strong communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office with mastery skill of Excel
