    AMA is looking for a Manager, Finance in Saranac Lake, NY to Manage the day-to-day operations of various general ledger and subsidiary ledger tasks and functions. Establish accounting processes and procedures and ensure compliance with company policies. Monitor accounting, finance and planning activities as well as ensure that timely, accurate and useful information is compiled and disseminated in conjunction with corporate requirements.  Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place. Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee various general ledger and subsidiary ledger functions ensuring adherence to daily/monthly/annual reporting deadlines.
    • Supervise the preparation of various departmental budgets, forecasts, cost analyses, variance studies, and financial reporting.
    • Develop and monitor internal allocation and costing methodologies.
    • Manage meeting profitability-related accounting and reporting functions.
    • Provide information and analyses that assist the cash management function in forecasting disbursements and financial planning.
    • Partner with business units to instill fiscal discipline.
    • Establish “best practice” accounting policies, procedures, operational controls, and reporting processes within the Finance division to enhance quality of job performance and customer satisfaction. Contribute to revisions as required.
    • Maintain a current knowledge of rules, regulations and standards. Ensure financial transactions are recorded in accordance with US GAAP and statutory filings are compliant.
    • Monitor adherence with Corporate and Finance policies
    • Responsible for staff management and development.
    • Ensure that the goals and task assignments of staff are properly aligned and prioritized in accordance with the goals of the division. 
    • Responsible for cross-training and procedure maintenance for key functions. Ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for critical operations.
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages superior results through solid communication skills and high ethical standards.

    Qualifications

    • 4 Year Degree in Accounting or Finance + 6 years of experience in business
    • Or MBA + 4 years of experience in business
    • Professional certification desired
    • People skills – 2+ years supervisory experience
    • Demonstrated project management skills
    • Multi-unit resource management
    • Demonstrated planning skills
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
    • Analytical and quantitative skills
    • Ability to communicate with all levels.
    • Accountability for multiple functions
    • Ability to work under pressure of multiple deadlines, time and volume
    • Achieve results with minimal or no direction
    • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and accounting standards
